How to Apply for the 2024 WAEC GCE

Step-by-Step Registration Process

  • After paying the registration fee, you will receive a Registration PIN.
  • Visit the WAEC registration website and use your PIN to register.
  • Ensure you have a National Identification Number (NIN).
  • If you have special needs, register online and specify your impairment (e.g., visual, low vision, spastic, speech, hard of hearing).
  • Finish the registration within two weeks of first accessing the website during the registration period. Verify your personal details, including name, gender, passport photo, date of birth, and subjects. Print the Admission Notice as proof of registration. This notice will include the Result Checker PIN.

Important Requirements and Information

  •  Scanner for biometric validation.
  • Candidates can choose either CB-WASSCE or Pen and Paper Test.
  • Online mock exams are available. Details will be sent via SMS, email, and social media.
  • The registration fee is non-refundable.
  • Regularly check the WAEC website for the exam timetable.
  • Use a Microsoft HD 3000 digital camera for your photo. Acceptable formats are black and white or colour JPEG, 275×314 pixels, 72 dpi resolution, with a size limit between 7kb and 15kb.

Examination Day Requirements

  • Wear mufti; professional uniforms are not allowed.
  • Weapons and electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, are not allowed in the exam hall.
  • Ensure all entry details are correct as they cannot be amended after registration.
  • Bring the original Photocard to the examination hall.
  • Results will be cancelled for malpractice, and candidates may face prosecution.
  • Provide accurate email and telephone numbers during registration.
