Federal Government Scholarship for Nigerian Students 2025

It’s no news that the current administration in Nigeria has shown significantly interest in the educational sector, especially with the recent implementation and launching of the Federal Students Loan program.

The Federal government is also providing a series of fully and partially funded scholarship for Nigerian students across all works of life.

Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship Reward

  • The scholarship is tenable in Nigeria and takes effect from the beginning of the academic session.
  • The scholarship covers-
    Under-Graduate Scholars: N250,000 per annum, Post-Graduate Scholars: N300,000 per annum, HND: N150, 000 per annum and NCE: N150, 000 per annum.

Required Documents for Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship

To apply, candidates must have and be ready to submit upon request the following documents;

  • Letter of Admission to the Institution
  • State of origin certificate
  • National Identity Number
  • CGPA Result (Academic Transcript)

Field Of Study To Be Considered For The Awards Are As Follows

  • Science and Technology
  • Medicine and Medical Sciences
  • Education Agriculture
  • Liberal Arts/Social/Management Sciences
  • Entrepreneural Studies,
  • Information and Communication Technology
  • Environmental Sciences

Federal Government Of Nigeria Scholarship Requirements

To be considered for the Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship Award, you must:

  • Must be a registered Full-Time student of Federal or State Universities.
  • Possess a minimum of first degree with Second Class Honours  Division (Postgraduate students).
  • Must be registered full-time students in their second year or above in Federal or State Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, and Colleges of Education
  • Must have at least 4.0 Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) on a five (5) point scale or its equivalents or 5.0 on a 7-point scale (UG, HND & NCE).
  • Must have a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a scale of 4.0 (NCE/HND Applicants)
  • Not hold the scholarship at the same time with another Award nor for part-time studies.
  • Not change course or institution while enjoying the award

How To Apply

All qualified candidates are advised to:

  • Visit Federal Ministry of Education’s website www.education.gov.ng and click on Federal
  • Scholarship Board ICON on the Home Page
  • Read Guidelines and then Complete the Application Form online; and
  • Print the completed Form.
  • Note that any Double Application will be disqualified!
  • Attach the following documents
  • Letter of Admission to the Institution
  • CGPA result
  • National Identity Number
  • State of Origin Certificate
