National Orthopaedic Hospital was established in the year 1974 as the Haile Selasie Institute of Ophthalmic, Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery by the then East Central State Administrator Ukpabi Asika, located directly opposite Abakpa junction.
The hospital was changed from Haile Selasie Institute to National Orthopaedic Hospital by the Federal military government of Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, while the Ophthalmic Section was transferred to Kaduna.
The institution has been a training centre. It runs two Post Basic Programmes: Orthopaedic/Burns & Plastic Programme together with Orientation programme for the Basic Nursing Schools within the South East Zone.

The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu (NOHE) College of Nursing Sciences Admission Form for the 2024/2025 academic session is now available. The college invites applications from qualified candidates for the following programmes.

NOH Nursing Admission Requirements
To apply, students need to meet the following criteria:
Age: You must be at least 16 years old.
Educational Qualifications: According to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, You need O’ Level credit passes in English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
These should be obtained in not more than two sittings from WAEC, NECO, GCE, or at one sitting from NABTEB.
Birth Certificate: Provide a birth certificate or a declaration of age (not a baptismal card).
School Testimonial: A testimonial from your last school attended.
Marriage Certificate: If applicable.
Passport Photographs: Two recent passport photographs.
Mode of Identification: Provide your NIN, PVC, Driver’s License, or International Passport.
Nursing Certificate/Licenses: Required for Post Basic Nursing applicants.
Document Verification: Bring original and photocopies of all relevant documents to the interview.

How to Apply?
Follow these steps to apply:
- Payment via Remita
- Pay N22,500 for the admission form and examination fee to the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu.
- Visit Remita.
- Select “Pay a Biller”.
- Type “National Orthopaedic Hospital Enugu” in the “Who to Pay” field.
- Select “POS Collections” under “Service/Purpose”.
- Complete the form and submit.
- Use any Remita channel to pay.
- If you need assistance, approach any ICT staff at the ICT Lab.
Confirm Payment.
- Go to the Registrar’s office to confirm your payment via Remita.
- Exchange your confirmed Remita receipt for an NOHE receipt.
- Collect your application form.
Data Processing
Take your filled form to the ICT Lab for data processing.
Note: The sale of forms starts on Wednesday, 19th June, and ends on Friday, 30th August 2024.
Examination Method
The entrance examination will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering Maths, English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
